Dr Bourbonnais went into critical care medicine because of the challenges and complexities involved in the field. Critical care allows her to provide acute and individualized treatment based on the patient's needs. She enjoys the opportunity to impact the lives of patients and their families in their time of need. Caring for critically ill patients provides a rewarding challenge for Dr Bourbonnais. It is her privilege to be part of a highly functioning team whose mission it is to provide the best medical care possible at the time of the patient's greatest need, while remaining compassionate and true to the goal of patient-centered care.
