Growing up, he was interested in science, specifically biology, and loved talking with people and hearing their stories—he thinks of medicine as the perfect combination of the two. As a former athlete with sports medicine experience, Dr. Perez strongly believes, "a good diet and regular exercise are the best medicine. If people want to live a better life, they need to be more proactive about their health." "My favorite part about being a physician is helping people take ownership of their health," he says.
